Home Working and Flexibility:  While this role is based in Paradigm Norton’s Exeter office (EX2) we are happy to facilitate a degree of home working.  We are also happy to consider flexible or part-time working arrangements (shorter working days, 4-day week etc.)

The Role:  This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Financial Planner / Financial Adviser or a highly qualified Paraplanner, who has attended client meetings and been involved in goals led financial planning as part of their role, to take on full responsibility for managing an existing portfolio of clients, while benefitting from the support, guidance and 30 years’ experience of the Client Director. For the right person there will also be the opportunity to progress into Senior Management, heading up and growing the Exeter office, as the Client Director gradually moves towards retirement (over the next 5 years).

The Person:  The successful Financial Adviser (Financial Planner) will be a warm relationship builder who is used to delivering, or contributing to the delivery of, a highly personalised, goals led and fully holistic financial planning service, putting the client at the heart of everything you do. The successful candidate will be Diploma qualified and either working towards, or already, a Chartered or Certified Financial Planner.  Full support will be provided for examinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships and work to deliver an exceptional service to existing clients
  • Provide a highly personalised, fully holistic, goals led, financial planning service.
  • Attend client meetings, conduct client reviews, present cash flow planning (Voyant), make financial planning recommendations and implement solutions.
  • Lead, support and develop the Financial Planner (Paraplanner) and Financial Planning Assistants, delegating work as appropriate and ensuring the highest levels of technical research and client service is provided.
  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance standards are met.
  • Contribute to the strategic and operational development of the Exeter office.
  • Further develop relationships with local solicitors and accountants.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in legislation, investment and technology.
  • Work to develop the reputation and brand presence of Paradigm Norton in Exeter and the Southwest which, in turn, will lead to organic revenue growth.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working as a Financial Advisor or a highly qualified Paraplanner who has experience of attending client meeting and delivering a goals led, financial planning service.
  • Diploma qualified, and either working towards, or already, a Chartered or Certified Financial Planner. Full support will be provided for examinations.
  • Good knowledge and experience of all areas of financial planning – cashflow modelling, taxation, investment portfolio management, pensions, protection, estate planning etc.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated, confident and charismatic.
  • A strong technology and mathematical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • A supportive and motivational team leader, with the ability to manage workflow and delegate tasks effectively.
  • A strong relationship builder and a collaborative team player, with a caring, quality focused, customer centric approach.
