We concluded that not only are we great financial planners but that we are pretty creative too. All the team were amazed with what they had created in a short time period.

Well done to all.

How do we match this event in 2007?

The 2006 team day, which was held at Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire, focused around a specific project, which was to create a thirty second commercial for the firm. The day was chaired by Stuart Pillinger who did a great job despite significant over runs during the filming of the commercials.

This year’s key task was to think through – how to communicate what Paradigm Norton does if we only had thirty seconds to tell our story. This task is often referred to as ‘an elevator testimony’.

We divided into teams of three with a clear brief to create a commercial that captures the ‘essence’ of Paradigm Norton.

Members of the winning team each won a bottle of champagne.

We hired a film crew to film the commercials, which were all shot in the morning.

During the remainder of the day the Paradigm Norton team worked on other matters, whilst the film crew worked on the edit and creating the finished product. The weather was fantastic and very conducive to relaxing and enjoying time out of the office. At the end of the day the director of the film crew voted for the winning commercial.

Richard Higgs of Big Squid, the film crew director, said, “The Paradigm teams created some truly amazing commercials. They sought to capture exactly what Paradigm Norton is all about. I very much enjoyed working with them. It was so difficult to find the best commercial as they each had there strong points.”
