Why?
Lin Ashurst has recently written a book on retirement planning entitled "The Retirement Code - or How To Die With No Regrets". Lin is hoping that the book will be published soon. The book combines
financial planning advice for retirement provision with guidance
on how to make a success of a very fulfilling part of life. Lin
has conducted a number of interviews with people who are approaching
or in retirement, with ages ranging from 46 to 86. She has
used the insights she has gained to ensure that the book addresses
issues uppermost in pre and post retirees minds – and shares
the wisdom of those who have made a success of retirement. As
Lin says “Fifty years ago the average retirement age was
67 and average life expectancy was 69 – with just 2
years of retirement you didn’t need a plan.. Now the
average retirement span lasts 20 years – 10 times as long – and
a plan is essential to make sure that you get the best out of it”.
Watch this space as we follow Lin’s progress.

Who?
As winner of the “Independent Financial Adviser Woman
of the Year 2005” award, no one in the UK is better
placed to provide an insight into the practical aspects of
preparing for retirement than Lin Ashurst.
Lin is an
expert in pensions and retirement planning and her work as
a practitioner has given her a comprehensive understanding
of the issues people face in the run up to retirement.
|
 |
What?
Lin’s book, The Retirement Code™®, is a
guide to those people approaching retirement, or in the early
stages of retirement.
The book not only covers the
financial aspects of preparing for retirement, it also explores
the emotional and practical issues people encounter. This
book is not just about how to put your pension plan together – it’s
about how you realise your retirement dreams.
|
How?
Over the many years Lin has spent advising clients on retirement
planning she has been intrigued as to why some people made their
retirement happy and fulfilling whilst others found it a less positive
time.
|
|
| From
listening to clients she became convinced that successful
retirees had the formula for cracking the code for a happy
retirement. The Retirement
Code™® reveals the results of Lin’s exploration
and analysis of that formula.
In addition to her work as a
practitioner Lin has conducted a series of interviews with
pre and post |
 |
retirees of varying
ages and circumstances that gave her further insight into
the subject.
Using her analytical skill, expertise
and understanding she has produced a practical guide, including
interviewees’ personal experiences, to getting the
most out of an exciting period of life.

When?
There has never been a better time to address such a topical subject.
