| Yet
for many of our clients, philanthropy is a major planning
goal, a high financial objective and a tax efficient means
of estate distribution.
An opportunity has therefore been missed to advise clients
in a comprehensive |
 |
way taking into
account their desire to be generous with their wealth. Paradigm
Norton has therefore sought to address this imbalance by creating
‘Release,’ - a comprehensive giving plan, which
incorporates all aspects of planned giving into one single
strategy.
|
Release
Release is designed for individuals or families who wish to give
£50,000 and above to one or more charities.
At the heart of Release is the desire to:
- Release financial resources that would otherwise be lost by
default to tax due to a lack of forward and strategic planning.
- Encourage and facilitate the distribution of financial resources
to the ‘not for profit community’ following a detailed
appraisal of short-listed potential recipients.
- Impact and shape our world through investing, accepting a non-financial
payback. This is the concept of investing in eternity (making
a difference beyond our lifetimes.)
|
|
Release allows clients to move from the place of being interested
in giving, to the point of having their own
- giving plan
- giving fund
- giving portfolio
Release is designed to be simple, personalised, tax efficient and
flexible.
| 70% of the population
in the UK make a regular donation to charity, but only a small
proportion does so tax–effectively. Consequently donors
and charities alike are missing out on millions of pounds
in tax relief. It is estimated that the total of £7.3bn
given to charity in 2003 could have been increased by £900m
to £8.2bn, simply by changing the method of donation.
